Story

This expeditionary seabase was built in 2024 by National Steel & Shipbuilding Co (NASSCO) in San Diego, CA.

Historical Notes

George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 10/03/2024) stated "The deliveries from GD-Nassco continue, both the vital new oilers and the useless base ships. Recently floated out is the 7th of her class, ROBERT E SIMANEK (ESB 7), and the photo shows no name on her, but the raised lettering was still put in place. Parts were already being fabricated for ESB 8, so I'm sure she's now started in the graving dock ROBERT vacated."

Owners & Masters

In 2024 she was owned by the United States Navy.
