Story

This littoral combat ship (lcs) was built in 2013 by Austal USA in Mobile, AL.

Historical Notes

George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 27/04/2023) stated "This week I shot the oldest one still operating out of San Diego, USS JACKSON (LCS 6). She's due for decommissioning next year. A point of interest to me is that I could barely read the number on the hull of the JACKSON. Since the hull never gets painted, I guess neither do the markings, and what was once a grey number is now essentially a pattern of blue corrosion blossoms. "
