歴史的注記

David Wright Email (David Wright - Nauticapedia 28/02/2022) reports that "The Smith Brothers boats were built at a yard literally called Sausalito Boat Works, small yard that mostly built fishing boats and small tugs/workboats, also sailboats. Founded by Menotti Pasquinucci in 1887 as a boat repair yard, later taken over by his son Frank and incorporated in August 1907. Built about 700 boats before Frank retired and leased the yard to Edgewater Boat Shop in November 1957. Yard was at foot of Turney Street. I believe the old shop building is now a restaurant called The Joinery." Kyle Stubbs (Email to Nauticapedia 27/03/2022) reports that "I found another well-maintained wooden vessel with quite an against-the-odds connection to one I'd seen the day before. I had mentioned that the SEA PRINCE at Crescent City was the ex-SMITH BROS No.1, and in Newport I found myself face to face with the SMITH BROS No.2 (223373), also built at Sausalito in 1923. With a clear connection drawn by adjacent name numbering and official numbers, I chose to do a little more digging into the histories. It seems the Smith Family of Bodega Bay, California was credited with starting the commercial fishery out of that community, and Smith Brothers Fisheries seems to have been the most prominent concern in the area up into the seventies."
