Kyle Stubbs (Email to Nauticapedia 17/07/2024) stated "Departing as the light dimmed, I spotted one last opportunity as I drove past the Southern Pacific slip once again. In honor of the holiday season, AmNav had some of their tugs decked out with Christmas lights on the railings, which actually started to glimmer in the twilight. MICHELLE SLOAN (1258228) is a shiphandling tug built by Diversified Marine (hull #28) in 2015 to a Robert Allan design that has since started appearing everywhere (Crowley's APOLLO, ARTEMIS, etc). Though initially delivered to Harley Marine, I believe her actual ownership lies with a vessel financing company (Tug Construction LLC) also owned by Harley Franco, but with no direct corporate ties to the operating company or its 'sans-Harley' successor, Centerline. C.2019, Saltchuck took over the leases of SLOAN and her sister, DR HANK KAPLAN, and moved the SLOAN over to AmNav to supplement the Southern California shiphandling fleet."
