Historical Notes

Kyle Stubbs (Email to Nauticapedia 17/07/2024) stated "Among the bulkhead space now used by a variety of smaller industrial operators was an apparently undocumented deck barge marked only as the N99. However, since it was a dead ringer for an Ex-Navy deck barge, I took a few close-ups to see if I could finagle an identity out of old markings on the hull. After a lot of squinting and pondering, it seems like the weld bead most likely identifies it as the former YF 818, built by Moore Equipment of Stockton in 1943."
