This research vessel was built in 1938 by Maritine Industries Ltd. in Tracy, QC.
Propriétaires et capitaines
In 1938-1946 she was owned by La Companie de Transport du Bas St. Laurent Ltee. QC Canada. (In 1963 her Canadian Register was closed and she was owned by USA interests.) In 1963-1968 she was owned by Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Co., Newport News VA.
In 1968 she was owned by Deepsea Ventures, Inc. (a subsidiary of Tenneco).
Reconstructions
In 1964 she was rebuilt to 152.0' x 32.0' x 8.5'
