Story

This work boat was built in 1973 by Offshore Trawlers Inc. in Bayou La Batre, AL.

Historical Notes

George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 30/10/2023) stated "I've been working on the list of vessels built by Offshore Trawlers, who built about 150 vessels, of which exactly two were built as fishing boats. I noted the SCALLOP PROVIDER in the Canada registry, with no history connected, and with help from Kyle Stubbs, figured out her full history. Attached is a photo of her sitting stripped and engineless in Seattle before this vessel floated up to Fanny Bay and was registered in Canada." George Schneider (Upload to Nauticapedia) stated "Originally BRADLEY G, Oilfield Utility Boat for John E. Graham & Sons. 1991-1992 sponsoned and lengthened by Nichols Bros. Freeland WA, converted to crabber and renamed BLUE FIN. New dimensions 112.9 x 35 x 12, 1060 hp.

In 2004 renamed ALEUTIAN FURY and gutted for upgrading. Sold in that condition 2012 and registered in Canada as a non-self-propelled barge. U.S. call sign WYT9518."
