This tug was built in 1943 by Puget Sound Bridge & Dredging Co. in Seattle, WA.
In 1943-1960 she was owned by the United States Navy.
In 1961-1999 she was owned by Samson Tug and Barge Co., Sitka AK USA
In 1961 she was rebuilt for civilian use.
