This tug, anchor-handling was built in 1975 by Delmar Systems Inc. in Larose, LA.
Notes historiques
George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 27/06/2023) stated "At Pacific Tug Boat's piers recently I've seen LUTHER (566412 / IMO 7427477). This vessel bears the name and markings of Salmon Bay Barge Lines, but by her continued presence down here, I suspect PTB is purchasing her. This vessel had been built as an anchor-handling tug by and for Delmar Systems of Larose LA in 1975, an oilfield mooring system contractor.
They retained her through the big oilfield shutdown of 1985, but sold her in 1992 to Brix Marine and was soon renamed HOWARD OLSEN. Soon after that Foss absorbed the Brix fleet and continued to use her until selling her to Salmon Bay Barge Lines in 2017. SBBL first returned her name ENTERPRISE to her, but a year later renamed her LUTHER."

In 1992-2017 she was owned by Brix Marine (later Foss Maritime).
In 2017-2023 she was owned by Salmon Bay Barge Lines.
