Kyle Stubbs (Email to Nauticapedia 11/08/2023) stated "It wouldn't be a true Northern California fishing port without the presence of at least one Monterey-style troller. In this case, the showcase example was the REX (280945), built at San Francisco by a Dominic La Bruzzi in 1934, and like most of the documented Montereys, this vessel wore a motorboat number until about 20 years after this vessel was built. Given the minimal level of fishing gear and slip location amongst the recreational sportfishers, I'm guessing this one has left its commercial fishing days behind."
