George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 27/04/2023) stated "AMERICAN PRIDE (241069 / IMO 7202786) in a long time, and this isn't like the glorious shot I got of her under sail in 2019, but she's a vessel worth noting. This vessel was built in 1941 by the Muller Boat works at Brooklyn NY as a Northeastern trawler named VIRGINIA. The Navy picked her up in 1942 for coastal patrol and renamed her YP 448. This vessel was later used in the development of mine warfare tactics, and in 1944 was renamed and predesignated MARATNZA (IX 200). Disposed of in 1947, this vessel was picked up by the O'Hara family and I believe was their first boat named ARAHO. This vessel also fished as ST CATHERINE and LADY IN BLUE until converted to a schooner and renamed NATALIE TODD in the 1980s.

In 1996 this vessel was picked up by the American Heritage Marine Institute of Long Beach CA and renamed AMERICAN PRIDE."
