DB Salta Verde

George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 27/04/2023) stated "DB SALTA VERDE (622241). DB designates "derrick barge" and in previous photos this vessel had a crawler crane on deck, but perhaps this vesselperforms a valuable service in construction support even without the crane. This vessel was built at Kaiser Steel's yard in Napa CA in 1980, one of the last units built there. She's one of many 185-foot deck barges they built for Foss, but this unit was completed instead for Foss subsidiary PacTow as a tank barge, PT&S 12000-1. This vessel later got a Foss name, FOSS 185-P3. At the end of the single-hull tank barge era this vessel reverted to deck barge status as simply 185-3."
