John and Ann Bailey stated "We purchased Sir Isaac in 2001 with the understanding this vessel would need some work.

In 2006 we put her into our shop we built just for the purpose of the restoration.

In 2016, 10 years after putting her in the shop, this vessel emerged after a very extensive refit that included: new decks, cabin, hull repairs, new engine, water and fuel tanks and a mostly new interior. We have enjoyed sailing her, cruising and racing ever since! Construction materials are Hull is cold molded Port Orford Cedar. Deck and cabin are plywood. Above deck trim is Teak. Below decks, trim is Sapele and Cedar. Keel is bronze."
