Historische Notizen
George Schneider writes (27Apr26): The Army designation BK stood for a "Knock-down barge," that is, a deckhouse barge whose deckhouse could be collapsed onto the deck for shipment overseas stacked as deck cargo and then reassembled. This one obviously never went overseas, and was sold to associates of the Everingham Brothers Bait Company, who established the first company to sell live bait to fishermen on the West Coast. Although various investors are shown as her owners over the years, she remains the shed at the Everingham Brothers floating facility into 2026.
