Notas históricas

George Schneider stated "the little tuglet SAMMY G (288101) was at the Pacific Tugboat dock. She’s belonged to them since 2001, but usually is tucked away in a nest of workboats up in Los Angeles. This vessel was originally a steel water-taxi in San Diego, the S&C 44 for Star & Crescent. The combination of the new bridge and its prohibition on even passenger ferries to Coronado, plus the Navy abandoning the practice of regularly mooring ships at buoys, there was no work for her, so they sold her and this vessel became a tug for the Pacific Towboat and Salvage Co. of Long Beach, named CORONADO.

They sold her, this vessel eventually became a dive boat as well, and was eventually renamed AMERICAN ENDEAVOR for American Oilfield Divers. After Pacific Tugboat bought her, her documents returned to being for a passenger vessel, which doesn’t preclude towing, but is the only way this vessel can also carry passengers for hire when going to do a job, which is quite an advantage in the competitive world of workboats."
