Notas históricas

George Schneider stated "the Coast Guard’s puzzling “open” 33-ft patrol boat by Safe Boats, the CG 33104. I’ve sent a photo of her before, so this is just a reminder of the one I’m talking about. At a later date, while going to view the Navy boats up for sale, I saw her being taken by trailer to the Chula Vista launch ramp, followed her, and got her HIN. I took some flack from the crew this time, but they didn’t say No. She’s EGO0879A606-Z1744, meaning built in 2006, so after 9-11, but I believe before they began building the production CG33’s with the familiar cabin. The 5 characters at the end are something I only see on Safe Boats vessels, and I think the last number might indicate which form they used for the hull, since successive units have different numbers. The letter at the beginning is normally a T for the Coast Guard, a Z for other agencies like state police. This is the first time I’ve seen a Z on a Coast Guard unit, maybe meaning it was built for another agency."
