This dredge, trailing suction hopper was built in 1996 by Gunderson Bros. Marine Corp. in Portland, OR.

George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 07/12/2021) stated "A lot of dredging has been going on around the piers and shipyards here, so far being done by Manson crane barges and hopper barges, but today the split-hulled hopper dredge BAYPORT was in. She’s had quite a journey; in late September Kyle and I saw her in the Columbia River on a project there. "

In 1996 she was owned by USA interests.
In 2021-2024 she was owned by Manson Construction Co., Seattle WA USA.
