Story

This passenger vessel (tour boat) was built in 1957 by Pacific Coast Engineering Co. (PACECO) in Alameda, CA.

Historical Notes

George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 07/12/2021) stated "the tour boat MARIETTA (274106) that I ran one summer when I was between “real” jobs. This vessel was built in 1957, and I first rode her in 1962, when I had to stand on her bow bitts to see over the rail. Most tour boats nowdays either look like antique ships or jet planes, so it was very endearing to run the only one that looked more like a bathtub toy. Her owners are still nominally the Star-and-Crescent Boat Company, but they’ve changed their face because the original logo looked like something from the middle east. " In Feb 2026 he added "In the 1990's they were doing business as San Diego Harbor Excursion, but have rebranded again to Flagship Cruises and Events."
