This landing craft (medium) lcm-8 was built in 1954 by Higgins Industries Inc. in New Orleans, LA.
Notes historiques
George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 07/12/2021) stated "the SOLITARY (1191433), and is a converted LCM-8. This vessel was originally the Navy's C200804, built by Higgins in New Orleans in 1954. This vessel worked for Assault Craft Unit 1 in San Diego until about 2005. This vessel was sold and became DIANA G of San Diego Towing, the ancestor of the Pacific Tug Boat Service of San Diego.
They put her up for sale almost immediately because they had several other Mike-8's, and this vessel was picked up the Alcatraz Island Services LLC, who gave her this name for use on the somewhat-daily resupply services to Alcatraz Island National Park. "

In 2006-2021 she was owned by Alcatraz Island Services LLC, San Francisco CA USA.
