George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 07/12/2021) stated "SEQUOIA GUARDIAN and this vessel belongs to the Redwood City Fire Department, meaning this vessel came from her berth about 30 miles to the South. She, too, has no document or state license number. Her HIN is QME00562M13H reflecting construction by Metalcraft Marine, a Canadian leader in building small fireboats. That HIN isn't quite in the normal format, so I can only assume this vessel was built in 2013. This vessel is said to be 40 feet in length, but her design is that of the Firestorm 36. This vessel is referred to as simply Fireboat 9, which I didn't see displayed on her anywhere."
