Historische Notizen

George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 07/12/2021) stated "After Great Lakes Towing had built a pair of Z-drive tugs (Z-ONE and Z-TWO) at Halter Lockport for charter off the Lakes, they bid on a contract to operate tugs for the Navy at Pearl Harbor and built three similar units at Marco in Seattle. The boats were completed in 1999 and worked for 10 years, until booted out of the saddle by P & R, a Honolulu-based company building their own in-house tugs. The three GLTC tugs were sold to Harley for use by their Millennium (LA) and Starlight (SF) subsidiaries, and went to Centerline with the re-branding, although I don't have photos in those colors. With the centering of focus on bunkering, these three were traded to Saltchuck with some others in exchange for Foss' bunker barges, and all three were put under the new Saltchuck subsidiary, also called Starlight, as shown here with markings quite similar to those carried when that was a brand name for one of Harley's companies."
