Notas históricas

George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 07/12/2021) stated "The license number, ending in YB, means she's a "Youth boat," like Sea Scouts or Sea Cadets. I found this vessel belongs to a group in San Francisco City, was built in 1949, and is 26 feet long. Her hull is a classic "Monterey," the kind of hand-built fishing boats used by the Italian fishermen around Monterey starting early in the 20th Century and derived from traditional fishing craft from Italy. The topsides, however, are custom. Typically they had a tiny wheelhouse, and often FORWARD of it was the engine exhaust. The aft deck was clear, because that's where you work, of course. It was obviously a really rugged life, but it was a livelihood for many local fishermen and their families, from San Diego to San Francisco, and probably further. "
