歴史的注記

George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 07/12/2021) stated "Another interesting Hornblower tour boat in the Bay is ISLANDER (904161). This vessel doesn't look very different architecturally from the ALCATRAZ FLYER and ALCATRAZ CLIPPER, former Red-and-White boats that Hornblower bought. But this vesselhas an incredibly different background. This vessel was built in 1986 by Merce Industries in Toledo OH, which I assume was an effort to make use of the former American Shipbuilding Co. yard there. Merce's only ships, to my knowledge, are a 360 foot barge and this 100 foot tour boat. This vessel was originally L R BEATTIE for the International Shipping Corp. of Cleveland. I'm not sure what service this vessel was on there, but in 1993 was picked up for the Bob-Lo Island Service out of Detroit.

In 1994 this vessel was re-sold, and in 1995 showed up as SPIRIT OF ETHAN ALLEN II for an address in Williston VT, then SPIRIT OF PLATTSBURGH in Burlington VT.

In 2006 Hornblower brought her around and renamed her ISLANDER for the Alcatraz Island run, where this vesselseems to have fit in better than any other place this vessel worked. "
