Story

This tug was built in 1976 by Slocum Iron Works in Mobile, AL.

Historical Notes

George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia) stated "I got my first (imperfect) shot of the tug PACIFIC FREEDOM (570902) that I'd previously reported when she arrived here, but still bore her previous owner's name, INTL FREEDOM. This is a good time to mention her background.

She was built as the VICTOR J GUIDRY at a small yard called the Slocum Iron Works in Mobile AL as their hull # 48. I only know of 4 vessels built by that yard, but in a strange coincidence, their Yard # 47 on this same day was less than a mile away, the SEA WARRIOR."

Owners & Masters

In 1976 she was owned by D.J. & R,J. Guidry, USA.

In 1977-2025 she was owned by USA interests.
