Notas históricas

George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 12/10/2022) stated "The old ferry boat KLAMATH (224401), first at Stockton as an office, then at Mare Island undergoing preservation. 5 million dollars later she's at Pier 9 in San Francisco and getting her last permits in order to open as a waterfront office and event venue. There are no longer any car ferries in San Francisco, but the passenger ferry business is booming. I've been mistakenly thinking (and reporting) that all the San Francisco passenger ferries are operated by WETA, the Water Emergency Transportation Authority. Now, after rubbing shoulders with local employees, I find that there are two companies. "Golden Gate Ferries" still runs the original Marin Peninsula-to-SF routes, while WETA does all the rest. For the employees, the two companies have polar-different personalities. The only distinction I can see in the boats is that the WETA boats have green as well as blue hues on the hulls."
