Story

Historical Notes

Al Jack (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 08/05/2020) stated " Cement hull … talked to the owner who built it, he said he built it to the tonnage of the license, the gunnels came up to his waist and pretty much just walked straight back to the cockpit, very low decks … then after this he built the "Gerda" also built to license but to length … it had a lot of beam compared to the boats of the day ... he was ahead of his time a lot of those Bristol Bay gillnetters have a wide beam and look like the Gerda."
