Story
This lightship was built in 1904 by Burlee Drydock Company in Port Richmond, NY.
Historical Notes
On February 14, 1905, LV 76 left New York bound for San Francisco in company with LV 83. LV 76 was to serve as the west coast Relief lightship, while LV 83 was assigned to be the first lightship at Blunts Reef off the northern coast of California. This vessel was decommissioned on September 16, 1960. (In 2016 this vessel was reportedly moored at the end of McLean Street, on the north side of the Fraser off the Lougheed Highway (BC 7)).
In 2017 this vessel sank at her berth and as of April 2018 was still submerged awaiting salvage.
