Notes historiques

Tom Quirk (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 14/05/2019) stated "servicing cruise, cargo and warships Vancouver Harbour. Ex Arctic river boat. Twin GMC 6's, redundant control systems, air over hydraulic. Inboard turning screws to prevent squat in shallow water, could push sideways or literally turn in it's own length. I skippered (and engineered) it cruise ship seasons 1998-99. Ten hour day (two ships a day), four day week, ILWU 400. A banker originally bought Aqua Clean Ships, name of Taggart, wife's name Angela, hence the name. I loved the name but got "What was the name of that thing..?" on the radio all he time. Later bought by, and my two deckhands and shore workers all Polish ship jumpers from factory ships stationed off Barkley Sound. Great mechanics, big boat seamen not harbour deckhands but all went well. Another skipper around the same time Harry Malbet. Company had another WWll era landing craft the Mahatta worked all year round serving cargo ships, worked relief on that one as well."
