Geschichte

This passenger vessel was built in 1912 by U.S. Navy Yard (Bremerton WA).

Historische Notizen

On February 9, 1930 with the name Tex, this vessel was reported to have caught fire and sank in 600 feet of water in Howe Sound. A Captain Clarke representing the underwriters flew over the area and spotted the wreck. Pacific Salvage raised her using the barge Skookum. After inspection it was revealed that the vessel had been deliberately scuttled. The original owner disappeared before arrest. The wreck lay on the beach for a few years.

In 1931 Pacific Salvage removed the 60hp Fairbanks Morse Co., Chicago IL USA engine and installed it in the tug Helac No. 1. Late in life this vessel operated as a yarding tug at West Bay, Center Bay and Long Bay working for Straits Towing Co.
