This vessel is no longer registered in Canada. Canadian Register closed 2016-10-16. Scott Welch (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 06/04/2019) states that the wooden Grand Banks were built in Hong Kong by American Marine. American Marine went bankrupt in 1974 and moved operations to Singapore, and the Singapore yard built only fiberglass hulls. Kong & Halvorson / Island Gypsy took over the Hong Kong operation and built wooden hulls for about 5 more years."
