Tony Arkwright reports that "The boat was made in Cape Coral, FL in 1981 by a niche market builder called Shamrock Marine Inc.

They manufactured several lenghts from 17ft to about 30ft, all were powered by mid engine gas or diesels having straight shafts. The term Keel Drive is registered to Shamrock Marine Inc. Each length had its choice of several deck configurations. The A-1 is called a 20 foot cuddy model. The principle design came from the down east or lobster boat style. The original concept was to construct a fishing vessel that would last the lifespan of the owner as well as their children. The company operated in the same facility from the early 1970's to 2008. Many of their early hulls are still in use today. The A-1 was sold to a Canadian through a San Juan Is, WA, dealership in 1981. It was and still is a CDN Registered vessel, (Tug Tender). It has had four owners all residents of Vancouver Is, BC Canada. Most Shamrocks are found in the American SE, but they can be found anywhere in the world that has fish and water. I know a gentleman who was employed by Shamrock to run new boats on the water up to Alaska.

He would take them from the San Juan Is up the inside passage to their new owners.
