Mathews Bay

⚓

故事

This fishboat, seiner was built in 1925 by Lepage, A.W. in Vancouver, BC.

历史记录

In 1941 this vessel was seized by the Custodian of Enemy Property (Frank Shears), Ottawa ON Canada.

In 1942 her ownership was transferred to His Majesty the King (Japanese Fishboat Disposal Committee). Ken Lund (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 13/10/2019 stated "The Mathews Bay was hauled out at Stone's Marina a few years back for some repairs. The company doing the repairs had a bill much larger than the owner had agreed to. The owner did not pay it and the boat sat on the hard at Stones for a long time. Some guys I knew were paid by Stones to dismantle it and it was taken apart piece by piece and broken up. Mathews Bay had earlier fallen over on the large tidal grid in Deep Bay and suffered damage."
