Story

This passenger/freight vessel was built in 1873 in San Francisco, CA.

Historical Notes

In 1878 this vessel collided with the Phil Sheridan.

In 1881 this vessel was running between San Francisco CA USA and southeastern Alaska. On August 28, 1889 this vessel was wrecked at Loring AK while backing out from the reef. The procedure was to keep a stern line fixed to the dock so that this vessel would avoid the reef. A wharf hand released the line before the steamer brought up on it and the tide took her onto the rocks punching a hole in the hull. As the tide receded her weight broke her back and this vessel was a total loss.
