故事

This ship-rigged was built in 1891 by Wm. Hamilton & Co. Ltd. in Port Glasgow, Scotland.

历史记录

On November 18, 1936 this old sailing ship that had been converted to a barge owned by Island Tug & Barge Co., Victoria BC broke her towline from the tug Anyox and went ashore at Kains Island (in Quatsino Sound). This vessel drifted for nineteen hours travelling more than 75 miles from the spot where her towline broke. The crew: Captain W. Billington; Roy Larkin; and Alan Heater awaited what they presumed would be their doom when no assistance appeared. These old barges carried a crew because they had to be steered when they were being towed and often required pumping out the bilge when leaking. Her three-man crew was saved but this vessel was a total loss.
