物語

This tug was built in 1944 by Northeast Shipbuilding Co. in Quincy, MA.

歴史的注記

This vessel was built as an American Miki-type tug. On August 18, 1988 this vessel was arrested in Steveston BC a few months after returning from a trip from the Philippines to the Queen Charlotte Islands with 22 tons of Thailand marijuana and drugs.

In 1988 this vessel was impounded at Victoria BC and released in 1989. On 31/08/2026 Drew Clarke stated "Ku'ulakai has apparently been "given away" after being no longer able to moor in Steveston Harbour. l am told the ship was taken to Point Hope Shipyard where some $300k was spent on her and she was then insured as per SHA regulations but was turned away upon return and with no options she was "given away" ... no further details but those Miki tugs are almost all gone now.. l hope her new owner has a plan and will maintain her (reported to be by Karen and Brad Scott this day."
