物語
This passenger vessel was built in 1925 by Coaster Construction Co. Ltd. in Montrose, Scotland.
歴史的注記
Her boilers were built by Wallsend S. & E Co Ltd., Wallsend UK. On November 9, 1927 this passenger vessel, while under the command of Captain A.E. Dickson, ran aground on Sparrowhawk Reef in Cunningham Passage. This vessel sat high and dry at low tide with the tug Cape Scott standing by and all her passengers disembarked. The grounding was so gentle that it was not apparent until this vessel was observed not to be answering the helm. This vessel became so impaled on the rock that salvors had to blast away 300 tons of rock inside the ship's hull before this vessel was floated off a month later on a high tide. This vessel was removed to dry dock.
In 1962 this vessel served briefly as a hotel ship in Seattle WA for the Century 21 Exposition moored at Gray's Harbour WA USA. On January 5, 1965 this vessel was wrecked in a storm on the Pacific coast of Washington State.
