In 1982 the Canadian Coast Guard took delivery of the ship. This vessel was sponsored by Madame Jean-Luc Pepin.

In 1980-1981 she was owned by Federal Commerce & Navigation Co. Ltd., Montreal QC Canada.

In 1981-1993 she was owned by Minister of Transport, Ottawa ON Canada.

In 1993-1997 she was owned by foreign interests.

In 1982 she underwent an extensive refit at Vancouver Shipyards Ltd. North Vancouver BC.
