This minesweeper, trawler (castle-class) was built in 1918 by Canadian Government Shipyards in Sorel, QC.

The Etoile de Nord was sunk by a mine in 1940 off Dunkirk with a loss of 27 of her crew of 30

In 1918 she was owned by the Royal Canadian Navy.
