Story
Historical Notes
In 1989 this vessel was seen at the Government Wharf at Saltery Bay BC Canada. John Campbell (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 17/02/2017) states "Airway was the name of the boat owned by Dr. Bill Barkley of Powell River.
He used to be my MD when I lived up there. Can't swear this is the same one, but it sure looks like him standing on the bow. After he retired from his practice he would do locum work up the coast using the boat as home base.
He is also partners in a cabin in Vancouver Bay (the one up by the Arran Rapids) so the boat would probably have been seen up there as well." Derek Poole states (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 17/02/2017) "This vessel spent some time at Westview in the late 90 s then this vesselmoved to Saltery Bay for a couple of years where I think for part of that time this vessel was owned by an Officer on the Saltery Bay Earl’s Cove BC Ferries route. I think this photo was taken at Saltery Bay and I believe this vessel was powered by a Ford six cylinder gas engine."
