Notes historiques
This unlucky passenger freight vessel carried 50 passengers and had six accidents during her life. This vessel also operated briefly as a cannery freighter.
In 1908 this vessel had three accidents. On February 7th this vessel was driven ashore on Cape Lazo and afterwards towed to Comox BC for repair. On April 11th while backing out from the cannery at Beaver Cove this vessel struck a submerged rock and damaged her propeller and twisted the sternpost. On April 22nd this vessel went aground in Schooner Passage but floated off at high tide unassisted. On September 16th this vessel collided with the Amur in fine weather off Trivet Point in McKay Reach damaging both ships.
In 1912 this vessel drove ashore at the No. 1 buoy in Baynes Sound. Although considered by many as unsalvageable her salvors managed to get her afloat. The Union Steamship Co. put her in service. On January 25, 1914 while owned by The Vadso Steamship Co. Ltd., Vancouver BC, under the command of Captain Richardson, this vessel was stranded when this vessel hit a rock in Portland Inlet near the Nass River BC and was holed during a blinding snowstorm. This vessel quickly filled with water and sank. This vessel is reported to have settled in 170 feet of water. Her crew of 26 were all saved and transported back to Victoria from the Arrandale Cannery in the Venture.
