Geschichte

This tug was built in 1890 by Clyde Shipyards (W.J. Stephens) in Victoria, BC.

Historische Notizen

October 2, 1915 this tug owned by John Hind, Vancouver BC and under commander of Captain Harry Smith foundered at Trail Island in the Gulf of Georgia. This vessel was carrying passengers while towing the disabled un-registered launch Munro (also carrying passengers) to Pender Harbour. Her crew of 6 and 12 logger passengers escaped to the launch and were saved. The weather was rough, and the tow line parted several times, but the launch was picked up each time. When the Constance started taking on water the crew abandoned ship to the launch as the tug sank.
