Roy Parkinson stated (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 20/08/2021) that "The W.R. Lord required some caulking which was weeping near the starboard bow. This vessel was sold to a fellow from Nanaimo who took her to Silva bay and had the work done. This vessel was kept at the ship yard dock for about a year until moorage was in arrears and the then tenant of the ship yard took her across Silva Bay and anchored her off of the RVYC dock where this vessel sank the following winter." Drew Clarke (Email to Nauticapedia 18/07/2025) stated "l last saw the wr lord up in degnan bay she was tied up alongside the shore too close to the rocks and a low tide had put a one inch dia. hole in her planking starboard bow up near the stem low on the hull it was coming in at a steady rate with an electric pump running full time no effort had been made to patch her...the owners had her for sale wanted 5 grand so l went to say hello to the ship and to see if the engineer had finally gotten 'out" it appeared he had...l did not detect him there anymore l told the owners they would have to pay me 5 grand to take her back at which point they said they would be sinking her. That was the last time l saw her or heard of her."
