Historische Notizen
Casy Chapman (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 12/01/2018) states that "this vessel was based at Zeballos BC for many years. Old Henry Shearer.
He was an interesting old guy. I rented a house off of him in Alert Bay years ago.
He passed away, I think, about two years ago. I figured the vine had succumbed as well as the last time I saw her, there was an alder growing out of the aft deck. I remember Doug Rogers, owner off the Aladdin II glassed the Vine’s hold for Henry. I kinda miss them both... good people." Mike Rydqvist McCammon (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 30/01/2018) states that " I spoke with the owner Alex P. Finnie this evening.
He acquired the "Vine" in Aug, 2015. It was built in 1939. Rumor has it, it was built in Alert Bay. Previous owner was James Rothenburger of Zeballos, who owned her from ~2003-2015. The current engine is a MD47 Volvo. "
