Story
This barge, bulk was built in 1981 by Seatrain Shipbuilding Co in Brooklyn, NY.
Historical Notes
George Schneider (Aug 2026) writes: Seatrain opened a commercial shipyard in the former Brooklyn Navy Yard, and built a series of supertankers for their own account. After that they stuggled to find more contracts, mostly small barges much below their construction capacity. The yard closed while this one was under construction, and her completion is credited to George Marine Repair Inc., of Perth Amboy NJ, but it doesn't appear she saw service until further work was done by Metro Marine of Norfolk in 1985. Her documents lapsed in 2015, with the Coast Guard listing her status as "Unknown" since then.
