Historical Notes
George Schneider (Aug 2026) writes: This is a fascinating vessel, her life spanning 70 years and counting, while at age 60 she was found worthy of significant reconstruction. In that time her length has increased by 50%, and her gross tonnage gone from 85 to 7945. Great Lakes vessels tend to last a long time because of the fresh water, but she was a "saltie" for easily 30 of her early years.
