This fireboat was built in 1949 by Christy Corp. in Sturgeon Bay, WI.
Historical Notes
George Schneider (July 2026) writes: This vessel was never officially documented, technically working as a "government vessel." In 1999 she had been sold and was at the Holly Marine docks in Duluth MN, reportedly for scrap.
She was then towed to Sturgeon Bay and on to Escanaba MI, where she was idle at the Basic Marine Yard until broken up in 2018.
Owners & Masters
In 1950-1997 she was owned by the Chicago Fire Department.
In 2017-18 she was owned by Basic Marine, Escanaba MI.
