Story

This oilfield supply vessel was built in 1981 by Steiner Shipyard in Bayou La Batre, AL.

Historical Notes

George Schneider (May 2026) writes: This is a ship with a widely varied career.

She began as a supply boat design from Steiner Shipyard in the Gulf of Mexico. As oilfield exploration was going into a slump, they sold her to an Alaska Company that needed such a vessel. Ten years later, she was made into a bunkering tanker for use in Puget Sound. From there she transited the Panama Canal again and spent 15 years bunkering in the Houston Texas area.

They sold her to a towing company who let her documents lapse but reclassified her as a towing vessel. It will be interesting to see what they do with her.
