This freighter, container was built in 1984 by IHC Offshore & Marine in Krimpen aan den Ijssel.
On December 16, 1988 the Wishing Star collided with the containership Nedlloyd Van Noort twelve miles off the coast of Puerto Rico and sank after being destroyed by fire.
In 1988 she was owned by European interests.
