He attended Dalhousie University and graduated with a BSc in Pharmacy in 1968.
He was a Licensed Pharmaceutical Chemist 1970-2012.
He worked as Pharmacy Manager in several stores in Dartmouth NS 1970-1979.
He served as Pharmacy Claims and Provider Audit Manager Atlantic Blue Cross- Moncton 1979-1994 - Manager of NB Prescription Drug Program and NL. Loblaws Atlantic (Dartmouth) 1994-2012 - responsible for expansion of new pharmacy locations in Atlantic Canada - director Pharmacy Operations.
He retired 2012.

He served in HMCS Cornwallis for Training 1965.
He served in HMCS Naden for Training 1966.
He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) 1966.
He served in HMCS Hochelaga for Supply Specialization Course 1967.
He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) 1967.
He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R).
He served in RCSCC Magnificent (Shearwater)- Training officer 1968-1975. (He was released in 1975.)
