He and his wife moved to thePacific coast about 1900. (He was qualified as a Master Mariner.) He served on the tug William Joliffe 1907.
He joined the Canadian Hydrographic Service as a Mate.
He served in the CGS Lillooet as Master.
He served in the CGS William J. Stewart as Master.
He retired about 1945.
He was a member of the Thermopylae Club in Victoria BC 1935.
